WARNING! EXTREME SQUEEING AND GUSHING MAY BE INVOLVED WITH THIS POST. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
The Fictional Guy of the Week this week (in case you didn't read the title) is... Seeley J. Booth!!!
Location: FOX's BONES
His Story:
Very few specifics are known about Seeley Joseph Booth's past. A product of an abusive, alcoholic father, Booth was raised by his grandfather in Philadelphia with his younger brother, Jared. Booth went on to join the Army where he became a very successful sniper for the Rangers. After the army, he came back and joined the FBI where he has been solving murders since.
Booth has a son named Parker with his ex-girlfriend, Rebecca. (Rebecca said no when Booth proposed upon finding out they were expecting- stupid woman!)
We are first introduced to Booth when he has Dr. Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist, detained by Homeland Security. They have a past together... one that led to animosity between the two of them. There's tension from the moment they speak to each other. It's awesome! Oh and then Booth dubs Dr. Brennan as "Bones" and she hates it!
Dr. Brennan is determined to not work with him. But if she is going to work with him, it's going to be out in the field. Of course, Booth isn't happy with this arrangement. Squints (scientists and such) belong in the lab, not out in the field.
Despite their strained beginnings, Booth and Brennan come to create a unique and extremely unlikely partnership. They work and interact together in ways that shouldn't work but do. Booth is the heart and Brennan is the brains.
Why He is FGW:
It's no secret that I love Seeley Booth. I mean, come on. Who wouldn't love him? He's attractive, successful, patriotic, good with his hands, knows how to use a gun (I call this the Tom Selleck Effect), and he's good at putting murderers away.
I picked Booth this week because I'm still riding on the high of the Bones sixth season finale from last week. Plus, as I said before, I love him. If he were real... I'd be too young for him. But I just love his character and how he is protective of the people he cares for.
So I was going to write more and gush more but I'm really more excited for the picture portion of today's FGW. How about you?
For your view pleasure...
So there you have it. The reason Seeley Booth is my Fictional Guy of the Week. *Sigh* I just love to look at him.
P.S. David Boreanaz is also one of those guys who just gets better with age.
P.S.S. Thanks to Sarah for her pictures that I stole from her blog. Hope she doesn't mind that I "borrowed" them. :)
Until Next Time,
The Hopeless Romantic
Love love love this! And the Tom Selleck effect? Nice! I feel like we should be cataloging all of these effects...
